Planning
& Consulting
Planning is the first step in any project. We guide our clients from setting a budget to designing their dream home. Consider the existing building conditions and prepare for the unforeseen to avoid costly delays.
WHY HIRE US AS YOUR CUSTOM HOME-BUILDER?
During the traditional homebuilding process you as the homeowner communicate with at least four different parties. This means you manage several different contracts to include the architect, the designer, the contractor and should you desire, the sub-contractors (which are many). With that said you can imagine the problems in communication that can arise on top of delays that already occur during construction and the time required from you throughout the homebuilding process.
When you hire us as your Design-Build Contractor we implement the fastest growing and most popular method used to deliver construction projects in the nation. Applying the design-build process we handle the entire home remodeling or new homebuilding project from the initial visit, into planning and design, budgets, permits and construction. Every aspect of the project is handled by a seasoned team of professionals overseen by us while you as the homeowner only have to worry about one single point of contact until the completion of the project.
To elaborate on the process, you receive one contract, one point of contact with responsibility in managing the construction project. The contractor works together with you from the beginning, providing recommendations to fit your design style and budget. Any changes are addressed to your contractor and are corrected in the shortest amount of time possible with no excuses and always working as a team toward collaborative problem-solving and innovation.
As your Design-Build Contractor we begin with the planning phase of your home prior to drafting the homebuilding plans and coordinating with engineering, we take care of all due diligence at the city prior to applying for building permits, we take charge of the construction project management, show up for all city inspections, adapt to all situations in project problem solving and make sure of workmanship quality control. Our goal is to simplify the complexities of homebuilding so that you can focus on the details that will adorn the living spaces within your newly remodeled or custom built home.

New Contractor
Business Building Resources
TOP 3 TOPICS YOU SHOULD MASTER
These apply to you if:
#1 - You are new to the construction industry as your own boss
OR
#2 - You have been in the field for a while and are now trying to move onto the next big project
OR
#3 - You own the business, but often find yourself jumping back and forth between the handyman and the business owner; in summary, the business owns you.
Here's what you need to work on: Knowledge, planning, and communication.
These are your 3 biggest assets, before, during and at the time of exiting your business.
KNOWLEDGE – Yes, you have acquired a certain skill-set, but mostly as a tradesman. Just as in the field, the more tools you bring to your project even if you won't use them all, the better the outcome. You MUST learn as much as possible about design, materials, building systems, CONTRACTS and the contractors you hire, COSTS, and RISKS before proceeding with any project (and NO, it doesn't matter how many years you've been in business without "ANY" issues, it only takes ONE project to put you right back where you started). Take advantage of all the FREE YouTube videos and information available on the Web and elsewhere (think about where your clients find their information and be ahead of them). Without business knowledge, your trade knowledge truly has you in the dark!
PLANNING – This might not be your favorite step in the process. We all just want to get in, get out and move on to the next one! Truth is, the more time you spend planning, the faster, better, and "MORE PROFIT" your projects will generate — with the fewest headaches. To your client's, the actual progress during the construction on the building / site may be the most exciting phase, but you must stress to them that no matter how long it takes prior to starting the job, the PLANNING phase is the MOST IMPORTANT. Surprises on the job site will ALWAYS cause headaches and these headaches will cost YOU money, yes YOU, not your client. Your client might be paying for it, but you need to realize that the longer you spend on a project, the less MONEY you are making! More hours equals less pay-per-minute and that's not including your client's friends and neighbors, the ones that are your direct referrals ready to give you more work. Your client's friends and neighbors don't know the details behind the delays and their assumption will be, "THOSE GUYS ARE TAKING FOREVER! THE HOUSE DOWN THE STREET WAS BUILT SO MUCH FASTER!" — So don’t be surprised — PLAN AHEAD!
COMMUNICATION – Don't forget, you might be running the project, but it’s your client's project. If you don't understand what the client wants and you don't clearly write out the scope of work for approval before doing any work or express exactly what needs to be done to your team and the subs you hire, don’t expect things to come out the way you want. Guaranteed they won’t! Communication starts from your back-and-forth emails before delivering your initial estimate, to your final bid, your contract, final approved building plans, client specifications and budget, and throughout the development of the project. These are all tools that take you back to your KNOWLEDGE book. Use these tools to communicate, especially if it's not in your blood to express yourself, REMEMBER, your client won't know this until you mention it. Learn how to use these tools effectively to keep everyone working together and on track to meet your deadlines — ONLY THEN WILL YOU BE ABLE TO REACH YOUR GOALS.
So, LESSONS LEARNED, don’t flake on any of these KEY ASSETS. Remember that this too, like life itself, is a marathon, not a sprint. TAKE THE TIME necessary to LEARN the ropes (even if you think you already know all the ways), to formulate a good plan and create a realistic budget, and to communicate clearly with everyone on your team.
OUR ADVICE TO YOU:
Overall, if you INVEST your time in excellent planning, the building will almost build itself.
Now, you're here to take advantage of the shortcuts we provide to get ahead on the construction marathon. Below are the services we provide if you're a go-getter or self-starter and know what you need just pick from the list below. Yes, there are fees to every service we offer, given how much we enjoy the trade and although we would like to, we still cannot work for free. The goal here is to expedite your learning curve as much as possible, where the fees we charge cover our costs of doing business in the beautiful State of California, they will surely save you 10x the amount it would cost you to figure them out by trial and error.
DON'T CARE TO READ AND JUST WANT TO JUMP IN?
FOR THE BUSINESS OWNER WITH A MINDSET TO GROW
If you are just starting or have saved up enough and are ready and willing to get the ship sailing, reach out via email so we can discuss your goals AT NO COST (the call or meeting that is) and once a budget is decided we will provide the full business package tailor made to your business, from learning to create an estimate, writing out a bid, generating a contract, our hand-holding along with the game plan (your weekly tasks as a business owner, especially if you wear many hats as we all do initially) and marketing tools you'll need to attract new business. If cost is an issue, the profits you see at the end of the tunnel will also be questionable, but given the individual circumstance, need and drive we might accommodate a creative strategy to get you started.
